Nutrition & Incubation
AKQ uses structured seasonal feeding, breeder conditioning, molt support, and chick-development nutrition based on species condition and breeding stage.
Incubation and hatching are managed through controlled temperature, humidity, fertility checks, egg monitoring, and careful intervention rules.
Full feeding charts, schedules, incubation curves, and intervention rules are maintained internally.

Glossary
- Allele
- A specific version of a gene at a given locus.
- Locus
- The chromosomal address of a gene. Each locus has two alleles in autosomes, but only one on Z in hens.
- Autosomal recessive (AR)
- Both copies of the gene must be the mutation allele for the bird to show the phenotype. Splits look normal.
- Autosomal dominant (AD)
- One copy is enough to show the phenotype. With incomplete dominance, SF and DF look different.
- Sex-linked / heterosomal recessive (SLR)
- Locus on the Z chromosome. Cocks (ZZ) need two mutation alleles; hens (ZW) need only one. Hens cannot be carriers.
- SF / DF
- Single Factor (heterozygous) and Double Factor (homozygous) — used for incomplete-dominance loci such as Dark factor, Violet, Edged.
- Combo phenotype
- The visual result of two or more mutation loci stacking. Not a separate gene — inherits via the underlying loci.
- Split (/)
- Heterozygous carrier of a recessive allele; visually normal but transmits the allele to ~50% of offspring.
